Hot Tub Time Machine Movie Review and Intro Summary

 Introduction Summary
Imagine traveling back to the 80's and having to try to redo the exact things you did before so you wouldn't mess up the "space time continuum".  Would you try to make a quick buck knowing things that are going to happen?  Better be careful when doing so, be sure you repeated exactly what you did or something else you are placing a bet on may also change.  No more details or a spoiler will come, a very funny one too.

"Hot Tub Time Machine" is about three middle-aged men, Adam (John Cusack), Lou (Rob Corddry), and Nick (Craig Robinson) traveling to a ski lodge and dragging along Adam's nephew, Jacob (Clark Duke).  The whole point of the trip was Lou was thought to have attempted suicide so his friends were trying to show that they still cared for him and that his life meant something, even though he didn't actually try to suicide, he just got so drunk and passed out inconveniently while in his garage jamming down the accelerator.

When they arrive at this ski resort, they are greeted by an image they haven't seen before, a shabby lodge.  They couldn't believe how shabby the lodge had become.  A very strange one-armed bellboy (Crispin Glover) escorts their luggage in such an unprofessional manner that is actually quite funny if you like stupid funny(Like me).  He even plain out asks them to tip him.  They are given the same room they had before, and of course that room had gone downhill too.  A random repairman (Chevy Chase) fixes the tub and it starts to bubble mysteriously.  After the guys jumped in, Lou's Chernobyl soda drink is spilled onto the hot tub controls.  They don't realize that they have been transported back to the 80's until they go out to ski the next day.

The style of clothing is 80's and the music they were playing was 80's.  Not only that, but Ronald Reagan was live on the TV and many other clues gave them an inkling they somehow did travel back in time.  Watch "Hot Tub Time Machine" to find out how they try to accomplish getting back to their own time.

Review
In my opinion, this was probably one of my top 10 favorite comedies of all time.  It is like a mix of "the Hangover" and "Napolean Dynamite".  It does have its moments of what some people would call stupid funny, but it also has those great laugh out loud moments.  A good bit of swearing is used so if you plan on watching with children and you're particular about that, I wouldn't recommend it.

This movie gets a 9.5 out of 10 in my book.  Hope you also enjoy this movie.  Thanks for reading, hope you have a great day!
